Does taking an online Calc 3 course from Stanford or JHU help getting into either of those schools?

I don't know, but I really doubt it. Just like taking a summer program at a college usually doesn't help you get in. I don't know it for a fact and I could be incorrect, however. Also, often the online programs are run through the university but they are in a separate area than undergraduate/admissions. I don't think it will help much--I mean, taking Calc 3 will help, but I don't think it matters what school you take it through.

I took Precalc online through JHU. Is Calc 3 a different set up, or just a more advanced course?

Good luck with everything! :)

Based on my experience, I've noticed that summer courses at the target university really don't do much.. I'm then guessing that taking online courses would do very very little in terms of admissions.

Are there any more opinions? I'm not completely sure about my response, and i'd like to know more about this too.

I think colleges would be impressed of your decision to take Calc 3 in the first place. But I don't think taking it at JHU or Stanford would make much of a difference, and this class won't be your leeway to acceptance at either of these colleges.
