Hi,

I'm a 3rd year chemical engineering student who's debating between taking the 61 series(61A, 61B, 61C) versus doing the eecs minor. These are the requirements of the minor:

-EECS 20N
-EECS 40 or (Physics 7B and EECS 42) or EECS100
-CS 61A or E 7
-CS 61B or CS 61C
-Any three upper division courses in EECS, for a minimum 9 units.

I have already taken E7 and EECS 100, so I would only need to take 5 classes(EECS 20N, 61B or 61C, 3 upper div CS/EE classesone of these CS/EE upper div would count as an engineering elective for my major).

The problem is that I feel like I would get more out of the CS department at Cal if I took the full 61 series, since those classes teach the fundamentals. Will taking the full 61 series be enough to prove to employers that I have some CS experience?

If I did the eecs minor, I'd probably take carefully selected upper div EECS classes, as to make sure I meet the prereqs and I'm not sure whether or not the selected EE/CS upper div classes would be as useful as taking the full 61 series.

My schedule is set up so I can't do both.

Please help me decide and/or provide input! Thanks!
