Taking GRE while an undergrad?

Has anyone taken the general gre while a junior or sophomore level student?
Is the test something that you'd do better on the higher your level of education or should most university students have the basic knowledge to pass it successfully? ("Success" defined by me as a score of 1300 or better)

Thanks!

I plan to take the GRE this September, and am currently a rising junior.
I have a friend who scored a 1590 on the GRE he took in November of his junior year.

Thank you!
Yeah, I want to take it later this fall, but was concerned about being at the junior level. Good to know that your friend did well as a junior. Well, not well, more like Wow! 1590 is awesome.

The GRE math is easier than the SAT math, and if you memorize the vocabulary for the verbal, you should be in good shape.

Just practice, practice, practice.

It's just like the SAT over again. Assuming you have good vocabulary, you'd probably do better on the GRE the closer you take it to having taken the SAT.

I think I wouldnt hurt. I had to take the GRE as a requirement before I graduated from College. Keep this in mind....the test scores are only good for 5 years.

Doing well on the SAT is indicative of how one will score on the GRE, in general.

Thanks, guys!
I never took the sat. :) but verbal/english tests have never been a problem and i'll make sure to buy a study guide, as i understand most of the words in the study guides are used on gre. the math portion could be difficult, but i'll make an effort to refresh for a few months before the test. Actually, now that I have a school in mind, i'm very focused my preparation.
