Taking in October -raise scores?

I am taking the SAT in October and I would like to raise my scores.
SAT I Math: 600
SAT I Critical Reading: 630
SAT I Writing: 610

Are there any ways that I would be able to improve my score on my own?

Thank-you so much.

your best bet would be doing alot of math, its the easiest to improve. the key is figure out what kinds of questions you are doing wrong and doing those.

i would suggest:

 1. refresh the hard terms : union, intersection (of sets), distinct
 2. remember that 0 is even
 3. practice plugging in, that is on most algebraic questions it is best to plug in numbers for letters (make sure that your selected numbers satisfy the conditions of the problem)
 4. geometry: what makes these problems hard is you forget the angle theorems, you forget about 30-60-90 triangles, you forget about equilaterial or isoceles triangles.

so buy the blue book or barrons 2400, and work hard on math, you should be in the 700-750 range if you can avoid careless mistakes

I agree–most people raise math scores more easily than critical reading and writing scores. But you should also work on writing and critical reading! j

Take a practice test.

Find out what you did correctly and what you did incorrectly.

Correct those mistakes!

That is simply how you improve.

Yes…for math…see what your weak areas are…and try to improve on them…that is your best bet…

For the first or so practice test, you also want to look at the answers you got right, and see why you got them right…so you know whether it was just luck or do you actually get that type of question…
