I am a freshman at a California community college and am a bio major. I'm looking to transfer to Ucla for fall of 2014, and the requirement is that I need atleast a semester of o-chem, which means taking general chem 1a and 1b before that. In order to take those three classes, I have to take intro to chem. Unfortunately I couldn't get that class this semester due to no space, but I have been looking into taking an online intro to chem class that starts later this month. There is a cc in Ohio that I can take it from, but do you think ill be able to use it from there as a pre req for gener chem for a California community college? My plan would be to take the online class, take gen chem 1a during summer, gen chem 1b during fall, and o-chem 1a during spring which will make me eligible for transfer. I am going to talk to a counselor on Monday but I would appreciate some feedback, because if I can't take it then ill have to spend another year in cc just for chem. I appreciate all the insight.
