Okay, I took the SAT as a sophomore and got a score that I think is lousy (see stats profile). Being OCD (I think I am, anyway), I can't live with this score and need to retake as soon as possible. However, if I don't achieve the score that I think I'm capable of this year, would I be able to take it twice jr. year and once senior year without any significant detrimental effects to my college application?

i wouldn't advise you to take the SATs again sophomore year. usually 3 times is the average amount of times colleges see students take it without looking desperate. Looking at your stats, i mean reading/ writing will improve just as time goes by, so wait until your junior year to take the next one.

Yeah, I think that's good advice. Having the summer to study would probably give me a better shot at a 2400 anyway...

Thanks!

Retaking is fine...
I took it as a sophomore and I don't want to retake it, but I would if I didn't like my scores...

you have great starting scores. WRiting easy to prep and get 800. Wait till junior year your math and CR skills should go up naturally, but prep writing before you retake.
