I'm currently planning on taking the January SAT (which will be my 3rd time taking it). However, I'm thinking of not sending the scores to any college just in case I do worse. So should I still say on my application that I will be taking the Jan SAT? Will they see it as a strategy?

you are going to have to send it anyway and all the scores are going to show so i reall don't get u. believe in yourself man

What I actually meant was that I already have a complete set of scores (2 SATs, 5 SAT IIs) and I will send in these way before the January testing comes along. I don't have to send in my January scores.

Flavian ,

i am thinking the same.. and i know for a fact that if you dont send score, the last one wont be on there.....

You will likely have to rush report the scores for January - just verify your schools will accept them. Good luck on the 22nd!

thx. But what do you think about not saying that I will still take the test while I actually am going to take it.

Yes, that's tricky. I don't know the best answer. If you don't include that date on your application, they may think its complete and evaluate before your scores are in. If you put the score date on the app and then don't send, you should probably notify the schools so that they don't hold your application.

Unless you're applying to rolling places, most schools don't start looking at apps until febuary...which gives you time to send those scores in (I'm planning on doing the samething)

Most colleges dont look at apps till feb, really, how u know when a college will start the process

I know that Northwestern, Wash. U, Wesleyan take an administrative break from jan to feb and start looking at apps in late feb, march (this is from interviews and visits). I found out today that harvard and yale accept SAT from jan 22nd...so you can deduce deadlines from that...
