Taking just writing

At UVA you can get an exemption by scoring high enough on the writing. Could I take the SAT again and just do the writing part?

Does UVA take your score from one sitting? or take your best scores from each test you take? If they do take your super score (best score from each setting) then you can just do the writing part.

Like Do the essay, then sleep for a while, wait for writing section and then do it, then go back to sleep, then wait for last section, do the writing section and go home.

I would advise you to just take the whole test without skipping any sections, and focus most of your efforts on writing. Even if UVA does superscore, I don't think bombing the SAT just for the writing section looks good in any case.

yeah, it really won't look good. just take the whole thing.

You at least have to sit through the whole thing. You can't skip out on the other sections, or College Board will cancel your score. You also cannot leave the other sections blank. So you might as well fill out the other parts, too.

I don't see why they would care if I didn't do the other parts. My score at this point won't matter for anything except a writing exemption. They do super score it and Ive already gotten: 700v, 660m, 650w.

You may not see why, but they do. They will cancel your score. If you don't believe me, ask them. But why bother to post the question if you already know the answer?

wut else are you gonna do during the other sections if you dont take them...just sit there?

Because UVA is learning about you right now. I am NOT saying these things are true of you, but here's what purposely bombing parts of the SAT says about you as they examine you:

~ If something isn't worth college admission, it isn't worth your best
~ Therefore, what else did you do just for college admission? You have proven you can get those high scores, but since they're not examining you, you have decided not to put your best into them anymore. Possibly that's true of the rest of your schoolwork. Once you get accepeted to a job when you near graduation from UVA, are you just going to slack off your work there?
~ You're so self-confident you think they don't care about your test scores since you're accepeted (and if you're not, you're in trouble)
~ You achieved high marks. And since they're "good enough", you're not going to try to achieve higher. Sure, you might feel it's your personal best, but since you're there anyway, why not giev it another whirl? You're settling, not striving.
~ You've impressed them once so you're not going to try again. This is UVA, where one is supposedly to be constantly saying, "Look, I can do this." Not, "Look, I did it, move on." UVA is a very competitive school that wants competitive students.

Again, I am NOT saying this is true of any of you. What it IS, however, whether you like it or not, the impression that walking into a test and purposely bombing parts gives.
