Taking Language 2 years, Skip Junior Year, Finish Senior Year

I live in California and plan on applying to UC’s and CSU’s. It’s recommended we take 3 years of language.

Would it matter if I took language my freshman and sophomore year, then skipped my junior year and take the 3rd year my senior year?

Why would you want to do this? You would have a year to get rusty before taking the most difficult year.

Would it be possible for your to enroll in Community College over the summer and complete the third semester of language?

If I were you I would just take them all throughout high school if you can. Most schools like to see that you’ve exceeded the minimum requirements. You could do Spanish I (Freshman Year) Spanish II (Sophomore Year) Spanish III (Junior Year) and either a DC Spanish or AP Spanish your senior year. Colleges like to see you challenge yourself, but its honestly whatever makes you comfortable! Best of luck to you!

I’m pretty sure most colleges want to see consecutive years of a foreign language.

Thank you for the replies! I wasn’t serious in doing this, I was just wondering and wanted more advice. I wanted to have an extra slot open for another elective, but I think being consistent is more important.
