Has this occurred to any of you, and is it a huge bother to deal with? The title is wrong, I meant, if you take the lecture in 1 quarter, and the lab in the next

Thanks!

Thanks!

its not a big deal

Also, is guidance as impersonal as I hear it is? Like, they do not really care about you?

i didnt need to rely on a counselor because i had a general idea of which classes to take and when to take them, but to answer your question..

last quarter, i e-mailed my department counselor to schedule an appointment to plan out future quarters. she never replied

Yes it can feel impersonal!

Do not be dissuaded!

saying that the guidance/counseling here is bad is just too generous. I think its flat out HORRIBLE. I went to see counselors in several departments as well as career counseling. You have to get through an army of student counselors at the departments and I can safely say that I knew more than the premed counselor at Strathmore (i think thats where they are).

i actually recommend taking the lab after the lecture for the chem 20/30 series. not sure about 14 series, but i assume its the same.

30AL covered topics (spectroscopy) that were introduced in Chem 30B. 30BL looks like is going to cover some topics that will be introduced in 30C (though im so clueless at this point i dont know whats going on anymore...). the only exception was chem 20L. taking it along with chem 20B was fine.

for the 14 series: taking the lab and lecture in the same quarter is fine.

just a word of caution: if you are premed, take the 14 series (for the sake of your gpa).

looking back (or rather looking forward and seeing whats to come...30CL...) i wish i switched to a life sci major before starting my chem series. :(

B and BL.,..those are totally fine taken together. but i think there are some things in CL that you learned way ahead of C. So for CL i would personally suggest to get comfy with ochem before tackling CL. (esp since its supposed to be wayyy harder than BL.)

Nothing bad at all. Perhaps advantageous to stagger the lecture and lab as others have said.

VTEC.. totally agree with 30C there. What have we been doing? The guy for last quarter's 30B is waaaaaaaaaaay better in terms of clarity and organization.

i dont know what we've been doing. i just remember seeing that pseudo 6-member ring thing that came up a couple times. :D

but yeah miljanic was SOOOOOO much better organized and easy to follow. rubin just starts writing rxns on the board. but rubin seems nice and i hear his tests are pretty fair....
