Hey again, I have more questions about UCSC. I'm looking to double major in Linguistics and Creative Writing so my course load will probably be pretty packed. I know I have GEs like math and whatnot that are unrelated to my major and I want to do well in them but I'm really not a math person. I'm good at it, I just...hate it. I live by Santa Monica College, which is (apparently) one of the best CC's in California. Can I take my math GE there over the summer instead of at UCSC to free up classes I want to take while also doing better in the class (lower curve at CC's than a UC I'm assuming)? Thanks!

According to assist.org, which provides info about course transfer from a CCC to another college in the state, one would need to pass two math courses, but you should refer to the UCSC general catalog under Linguistics for details. So I assume if you took a math course this summer it may transfer, but you should really email someone in UCSC who is involved in credit transfer. Or maybe someone else can chime in.
