Taking Math B...

I was wondering if it was a wise choice to take math B over the summer in summer school, since I want to take pre calculus next year. Would this be a wise choice, or should I just take the whole year course. Would this look bad on a college transcription? Thanks very much

Do you mean New York's REGENTS MATH B?
If so, it just depends on you. It wouldnt look 'bad' if you take the regents and ligitimately pass the course. But the real question is do you think ull learn it with enough depth?
Try to get AOPS vol 2 (or 1 as well).

Yes I mean New york state regents Math B

Anyone else have any other opininons, since I have to talk with my guidance counsler next week, Thnks

um honestly, you probably wouldnt learn it well..because Math B over the summer is generally for kids who failed, depends on wat school u go to and things like that, if i were u and u are really eager..take the class..and study by urself...try to get high on the regents.

Do you think this school is worth it, so I can take pre calc in 11th grade.

hey i might be taking that course at that school too!
anyway my Guidance Counselor and the Head of the math department said it looks perfect. However it depends on how math b is split in your school
in mine(Wheatley High School) we split it into 2 years. so i would be taking math b 1 and 2 , thats approximately 3 hours a day for the summer. However just passing the regents might not be enough!. My school will also test you afterwards to make sure you learned everything correctly

Also im taking this course to advance not because i failed math b or whatever.

What school do you go to?

we take trig (math b) in twenty weeks...its definitely a tough regents. if you got 80 or above, i only suggest retaking if you plan on being a math/phys/chem/engineering major. besides, they'll look harder at SAT math than your regents
