Taking More than 3 Courses Per Term

Hi,

I understand that the UW runs on a trimester system, or 3 quarters, and most students take only 3 classes per term. So if each class is 5 credits, then by the end of the year, they will have 45 credits.

My question is: am I allowed to take 4 classes per term in my freshman year?

If so, would that be too much coursework compared to the others? Would I be too stressed out?

By the way, I am a freshman majoring in computer engineering.

Thanks.

I guess you already know that there are only a few classes in the C.E. curriculum which are 5 credits. That means that most of the time you will HAVE to take 4 classes a quarter.

My recommendation: don’t take 4 technical classes. One math, one science, and MAYBE one computer science or something like that are enough technical classes for one quarter. So consider taking some humanities stuff.

okay. thank you.
