Guys, share how you take notes and how you organize your school stuff. There was a thread like this a while ago and I remember it being very helpful.

bumpppp bu-bump

Stop replying to your own comments.

it was a "bump"/ lots of people do it

GDF and SinsNotTragedies are the same person?

Yes, they are. I've said this so many times lol.

That's like...really retarded.

How is that...like really retarded. MANY CC'ers have multiple user names. I dont like Green Day anymore so i got a new user name. Now I post on both. Although I'll let Prepkid and the others know that u think its retarded.

Back on topic...

I keep one of those file folder binder things. I think I got mine at staples, but I just assign one class to each pocket and put all my stuff in there. Then I have an Other pocket, an Important pocket, and a Debate pocket. I don't lose anything like this (until the end of the year when the front pocket bursts and I have to be careful taking things out).

As for notes, the only class I regularly took notes in was AP Euro, and I started the notebook in pencil, switched over to pen, and then switched over to two pen colors. I attempted multiple colors for a while, but that was too much.

Going back through my notebook for AP Studying, I found that my pencil notes were extremely hard to read. Not because my handwriting sucks (it's extremely legible to me. :P), but because pencil is so light. The pen was only a bit harder to read.

But when I got into the two colors, I was praising myself for it. I wrote in black anything on our teacher's outlines (powerpoint) and in red any extra information he gave us. This way I could skim the black text for important information, and read the red for details.

I also gave more importance to the black, because it was exactly what our teacher gave us, and therefore flawless (ok, kinda. :))

The notes are all in outline form, of course. I can't stand bullet bullet bullet notes without any organization. How can anyone read those? :X

Um. That's the only class I took notes in. :P. The multiple colors didn't work (the plan was to do the two-color system and then use other colors to underline/highlight People, Places, and Ideas) because I didn't remember all the time, and it got hard to keep up while switching pens back and forth.

EDIT: And by the way, using retarded as an insult = :[

Thanks that's helpful. And thanks for being on-topic.
