Hello, everyone.
I’m considering supplementing my current sophomore year schedule with some classes after school ; I’m taking all honors classes as well as honors choir but no APs, unfortunately. And yes, I know - APs aren’t everything!
Anyway! It all started when I got the idea to take a beginner’s art class after school ; I am a freelance artist at the moment (earning a little bit of money, too!) and really enjoy the hobby. I thought an official art class would be a great, structured way for me to improve my art.
While browsing through the courses, though, I found many classes that piqued my interest. AP environmental science, AP Psych, AP Art history? And the thing is: they’re all year long. Which leads me to believe that the course load is spread out a little bit more and may prove to be more manageable for me.
I will be involved in Science Olympiad, chorus, a book club, robotics, and potentially one or two more clubs next year. Nothing too incredibly intense ; and though all of my classes will be honors, one of periods each day (chorus) will leave me with little to no homework on the daily. So only three classes with moderate homework. Doesn’t seem too bad to me?
I’m thinking I might work 30 minutes on the class every day, with a couple of hours on the weekend.
Opinions? Am I biting off more than I can handle? Or is this a step in the right direction?
