Taking Pre-calculus course at UCLA Extension as a SMC student

Hi, guys.I am taking pre-calculus course at UCLA extension and I wish I can transfer those units back to SMC so that I can continue to take Calculus 1 &2 at SMC. I want to know that if this is the right way for me.

Also, I’d like to know that Can I use these UCLA extension classes transfer to any kind of UC schools.

I would be very grateful if anyone could answer my question

You need to ask SMC if the credit will transfer. If it doesn’t transfer, ask about placement exams that will allow you to show what you did learn so that you can get into the math clas you want.

I have already take my placement since I’ve enrolled and I get Math 54 which is Elementary Statistics, but since I am an Econ major, it requires Math 8 which is Calculus 2, so one of my counselors told me that I have to take MATH 20 -Intermediate Algebra and math 32-Plane Geometry and then go to pre calculus and then take Math 8. it is confused me.

PS. I went to the school today and one of my counselors answered all of my questions.

anyway, thank you so much for answering me!
