Taking Precalculus first semester as an engineering major?

Unfortunately due to scheduling conflicts and limited spaces, I will be having to take precalculus during my first semester of college. This sets me back on my math classes as a computer engineering major, but I really want to graduate in four years. This is the curriculum flowchart for my specific major and university:

Would taking Calculus II and Physics I during the summer be the only way to catch up? If so, would it be possible and a good idea to take them at my local community college?

I’ve heard that these are very hard courses and shouldn’t be taken during the summer, but again I really wish to graduate in four years. I will be speaking to my academic advisor once this semester starts, but would appreciate any advice beforehand. Thanks in advance

Talk to your academic advisor at college.

Looks like there is an 8-semester-long sequence of prerequisites starting at calculus 1:

Math 150A
Math 150B, Physics 225
Math 250A, Physics 226
Math 250B, Physics 227, EGEE 203
EGEE 303
EGCP 381
EGCP 450
EGCP 471

Yes, you need to take Math 150B and Physics 225 in the summer to “catch up” if you cannot start Math 150A until spring. Check http://www.assist.org to see if any local community colleges have equivalents to CSUF’s Math 150B and Physics 225
