Taking Questions

Hey, I'm a current freshman at TCNJ, School of Culture and Society, Psychology Major. Former Open options science major, I live in the towers and am pretty sure I can answer any of your questions, so fire away, I'm bored, just none of that chance me crap ! =D

hi! i have a few questions. i originally wanted to be a bio major, but had to change my major to be accepted. i changed to health and exercise science. i want to be a nutritionist, so would this allow me to accomplish that, do you have any idea? also, how did you find changing majors? and how do you like the psychology program, because I have interest in that field as well. thank you!

Hi, I’m only a junior but I’m going to be visiting TCNJ soon. My parents are really pushing for it because of the in state tuition, and the relatively close proximity to home. I’m just wondering, what’s life at TCNJ like? Are there parties, nice people, lots of school spirit? <– Those won’t make or break my decision, academics are the most important, but I’ve researched enough to see that TCNJ really holds up in that department. Could you just give me a quick overview of what it would be like to go there? Thanks so much

One of my worries with TCNJ is that I have heard there is very little diversity. Would you consider this true? And how is life in the Towers? The rooms I saw on tour looked kind of small, does it get too cramped?

Not too much diversity, prob 80% white, 95% instate. But I don’t mind. Towers are nice, never feel cramped, rooms are bigger than Cromwell ones for sure.

Okay I’m not worrying too much about the diversity there anymore but it’s not like full of non minority liking people though right?

Hi :), Can you double major w/in your school? I got into School of Culutre and Society too!
Also, is it possible to be a double major with a minor?
Thanks :)

Yeah, it’s possible to both double major and minor within a school. There are also these things called concentrations that are kinda in between majors and minors and tend to be interdisciplinary.

Bump! I need to pay more attention when people comment…lol

to the people that posted up top there, I’d say there is a decent amount of diversity, I think glacius is on the money with the statistics. a lot of in state but theres a surprising amount of out of staters, i mean i am for one, and I know a decent amount of others too.

10casmic, changing majors wasn’t that hard, at all! It took me about 2 or 3 days just to get the paperwork filled out but it was pretty easy! The psych dept. here is pretty good, i already have research with a professor lined up for next year and im a freshman. I would say to look at the curriculum for both majors, you could easily switch to bio if you wanted.

Keeks123, I would say that TCNJ is kind of what you make it. If you like to go out an party, you can do that, people go out often on tuesdays and thursdays, but especially fridays/saturdays. I would say a lot of people tend to go out weekends, but you can find people that would stay in too. I think that school spirit wise the school is OK. I mean, there’s no spirit involved with the athletics here at all basically. Ask a student when the next football game is and they wont be able to tell you. (then again we’re div III so who can blame us) But in general everyone likes the school and is proud of it, people are always walking around with TCNJ gear, the campus is beautiful and the library is awesome. There’s a bunch of really cool lakes. The housing is pretty good for everyone (although i wouldnt recommend cromwell)

Anything I missed just ask!
