I'm a current freshman and I'll be taking the SAT March 9th because I need to submit SAT scores to qualify for JHU's CTY. If I receive a low score, will it have any negative effect on me in the future (i.e. when I apply to colleges?) I was searching this up and one mentioned some top-tier schools require you report all scores you get during your high school years... is this true?

The scores stay on your record if you’re over 13 years old. Colleges will understand that you were only a 9th grader when you took it though, and if you get into CTY, it will look good on your application. My vote is that you go for it.

Not sure if this is true or they changed it, but I took the SAT twice in 8th grade, once in april/may and once in june the summer before freshman year and neither of those showed up on my final records.

As far as i’m aware of, if you’re taking it before you officially start High school, it doesn’t show on your records.
