Taking SAT IIs just for fun

Hey I know that title seems strange, taking SATs for fun, but I was wondering.

If I've got my three highest scores already set, could I take more SAT IIs just to see what I would get? I was wondering that colleges may look at this negatively.

Of course, I would have to spend $27 every time, but that's okay.

i've got 5 SATs i guess. i'm not sure. i've only got one low score, which i don't think will affect my overall results

you don't want get too lower scores.

whatever floats your boat...

yeah might as well. i was going to say, you're weird, but if you're just taking them to see how well you could do, that's pretty understandable. go for it. i don't think colleges would care.

Wow. I wish I had that kind of spare time. haha

tubaman-- i had a friend just like you. he wanted to take every sat ii possible because he loved taking them. you guys are nuts. but i envy you too.

glodynasty, did your friend take hebrew, because that would be awesome.

... why would you want to waste the time, money, and effort ...

What you are proposing would have been just fine several years ago when score choice was around, because you could then cover scores that are not very good. Though schools may specify only 2 or 3 or no SAT2s, it is difficult for an adcom to ignore the other scores when they are staring him in the face. It may not be favorable to you, particularly for highly selective schools, to have a low score in the mix. Such schools are looking to eliminate as many kids as they can from a huge, highly qualifed applicant pool. Anything that looks negative can be the justification. It is possible that you may not do well on one of your SAT2s.
Also your time could be better spent honing one of your interests or talents, which may interest some colleges a lot more than extra SAT2s, even if they turn out perfect.

oh friend don't do that! for
1. you MAY get scores you don't want to see...
2. colleges will perhaps misunderstand you, thinking "this kid's a test-obsessed nerd"
3. just like cptofthehouse said, why don't you put your time, money and energy into some interesting ECs, unless you want to mark "taking SAT tests" under the question "which of these activities has been most meaningful to you" on your application...
but if this is exactly what you're planning to do, well I must admit that it is indeed a pretty edifying hobby, and I'll suggest you to look at all the multifarious forms of tests that exist in this world once you're done with your SATIIs...
no I was just joking:) I admire you for that and really, I wish I could be like you:) maybe you should think about posting some test-taking tips here

i say go get some fresh air and while at it a life!

I took more than 3 and I still had time to run. Do what makes you happy. Don't let a goddamn building control your life.
