If I'll be applying for universities in November/December, would taking SAT in September be okay? Would it be too late?

I don’t think there’s an SAT in September. Pretty sure the earliest one is in October?

I think there’s an ACT in September though.

oh, really? okay, so if I write SAT in October as a senior, would it be too late?

Probably not. Usually, individual schools will post their policies regarding this on their websites.

October’s definitely not too late, but try to get yourself acquainted to the test before actually taking it. Surprisingly enough some colleges actually accept Jan and I think maybe even Feb test scores. Check the websites of the colleges you’re applying to for a definite answer.

The October test date is usually OK even for ED applications, but check individual college requirements to be sure. For RD it should be no problem whatsoever.

October isn’t too late. However, you probably won’t have another chance to retake it if you do poorly, so prepare yourself!
