Anyone take SAT Math II after taking Calculus, how did that go? Do you think it required extra prep because the material wasn’t fresh in your mind?
I took it twice and did quite poorly both times. I’m currently taking AP Calc BC and took AB last year. Taking it after so long after trig was huge mistake, one that will probably hurt me at every school that doesn’t allow score choice. I was busy with apps and other things and didn’t have much time to review. Should have studied during the summer.
One of my friends said that she did MUCH better after taking Calc. A lot of the same concepts are involved so it should not be too bad just make sure to review thoroughly and don’t procrastinate.
I took Math II after Calculus BC.
Some topics from algebra and pre-calculus aren’t really covered in AB but show up in BC (E.g. vectors, polar/spherical coordinates, sequences/series), so I can see how the BC student could have a slight advantage.
I also did a lot of math contests (AMC/AIME/Olympiad) which covers everything up to pre-calc but with more challenging problems. So Math II was much easier in comparison.
did math 2 during calc AB, but I knew the concepts bc of SAT math.
Honestly, if you learned it, you should do fine. Reviewing wont take as long as learning the material for the first time.
