Taking SAT Subject Tests without Taking AP

Hey everyone. I’m trying to get into some of the upper colleges such as Stanford, who all recommend taking 2-3 Subject Tests. I’m thinking about taking Math II, Physics, and maybe Chemistry. The problem, however, is that I have taken neither AP Physics nor AP Chemistry. What can I do to still do well on those 2 subject tests?

Despite what some super zealous students on this forum say, AP classes are not needed to perform well on SAT subject tests. Math 2 does not even cover calculus.

Ah. So diligently studying some SAT prep books should be good enough?

Yup.

Alright, thanks for the quick replies

Hey, I got an 800 on bio, 790 on chem, and 800 on math. For all of them, I was simply in an honors class prior to the exam. While for math II, I was in the middle of AP Calc, I actually thought the gap between Calc and Precalc hurt me more than the additional Calc knowledge helped.

Math II’s highest level mathematics requires you to know the Laws of Cosines and Sines.

Chem was easier than the AP exam, so you can self study that
