I would think that SAT scores correlate with basically anything that helps with college admissions, like GPA, rank, results of math contests, and olympiads in general, involvement in extracurricular activities, value of teacher recommendations, quality of the essay, and so on. The correlation probably isn’t that great, especially for the last three, but probably enough to change admissions rates for higher SAT scores. I don’t have any specific proof, but it makes enough sense, to me at least.

^ As I said with respect to an analogous situation, no one can prove to what extent that is causal. But it sure does not indicate in support of minderbender’s assertion. Also, if there is such a significant correlation between the SAT and other things that colleges care about, I propose that it should be causal.

Guys, im taking the SAT again when im done with college applications.

SO for example, AFTER i sent in all my applications, ill take SAT in like March, may and June in my senior year. That way, it has no effect on my application process.

Im just curious, has anyone ever done this?
