<p>Does taking the summer off before college put you behind when applying for internships after freshman year of college? Its not so much that I want to take it off but I have yet to find a job or internship so its looking kind of grim.</p>
<p>Any relevant experience helps during the internship search. Just make sure it is something that will actually give you leverage during the internship search.</p>
<p>I am not so sure how much "flipping burgers" instead of relaxing will hinder your freshman year internship search. I suppose some individuals will find it beneficial that you at least have work experience. I dont know that is up for debate.</p>
<p>However, it is something worthwhile where you can sharpen or learn a particular skillset...I would go for it.</p>
