I signed up for the SAT II's too late to take it at my local school, so I signed up for a school 10 miles away from my home. However, I don't feel like losing sleep when I can just go to my high school a mile away. Can I just go to my local high school and see if I can take the test there? Are there any rules? exceptions?

You would have to do standby testing at your local school, so you risk not testing at all. You will then have to register again and pay the late reg fee. You'd also loose the fee and spot you paid for at the other school.

I personally don't think 10 miles is worth ~$60, but whatever floats your boat.

ten miles isn't that much.

I had to go 20 miles and I know a lot of people have to go a lot more.

Actually, you don't need to be an official standby. You can just go to your school a bit early the morning of the test. If they have extra test materials after all the confirmed students are seated, they'll do an on-site site change and let you take the test right there. You'll get priority over any standby's because you're already registered to take the test. CB will bill you for the site change but if you tried to register at your local school as one of your two choices, and CB wouldn't let you, you can email them and they will waive the fee.

(This is how it worked a year ago when I did a site-change for my SAT II's - you might want to call CB and confirm you can still do this)

I have to go 90 miles for both May and June :( 10 miles is nothing.

/omg...thats a lot dude...have fun...

It takes about 15 minutes to drive that far... I don't think 15 minutes of sleep will make you do THAT much better... But if you think so, go to bed 15 minutes earlier... I've heard of people driving 2 hours, 10+ miles is typically the distance to the closest place for me.

wow haha the closest place for me is 1.5 miles.
