I heard from a friend that if you take the ACT more than 3 times, you lose credibility. I was just wondering about this because how would they know if you choose not to send in all of your scores?

Also, I was wondering, how many times do you suggest taking it? Should I take it as many times possible?

I’m not sure how, but I’m pretty sure that colleges know how many times you take the ACT. If you take it too many times, it makes you look like you’re trying too hard to get a good test score, and colleges care about other things a lot more than what you got on the ACT. How did you score, and what schools do you want to apply to?

I was always under the impression that colleges have no idea how many ACTs you take besides the number of scores you choose to sent to them (if you send 3+ scores it obvious you’ve taken it at least 3+ times).

Thats why there was a commotion over the [relatively] new SAT score choice policy. That way students could take the SAT as many times as they want without any consequence of having too many sittings.

Soo… I honestly don’t think colleges have any way of finding out how many ACTs you’ve taken, at all. But I could be wrong I suppsoe.

Some colleges highly recommend you send in all test scores from all sittings. Apart from that, I suppose they have no idea how many times you take a test.
