Taking the ACT Test for the 4th time

I took it last Feb (25), last April (27), skipped June, and I am taking September. However, I plan to take it in October, my fourth time. Is it okay when colleges see the common app that I took it 4 times? What do you guys think? My friend who is an avid-CC user says that 4 is too many times to take it, and 3 is just right. What do ya'll have to say?

I would say 3 is the max…usually it’s 2 I guess.

Like your friend said, I would say 4 is kind of overdoing it.

Well when your shooting a 28 go for a fourth. If your having proggress its good. If your shooting 25 28 28 28 then no… just don’t do it…

ACT has something similar to score choice. So it is up to you whether you want to report how many times you took the exam. Even schools that want you to send all scores depend upon you to actually consent to sending them all through ACT. Whatever you decide make sure your high school transcript reflects your decision if your school is one of those that puts act/sat scores on there which they should not without your consent.
