taking the bus at Rutgers

It depends on which way you're going and from what stop. Say you're at Scott and heading to C/D, the F would be the best choice (even though it's not as frequent) because the EE stops at Brower for awhile after Scott and takes Rt. 18 back. For going to College Ave. from C/D, it doesn't really matter because you can always walk from one of the other stops if you don't want to ride it all the way or if the bus doesn't stop where you need it to. For example, if you're on the F and want to go to Scott, you can just get off at Hamilton and walk up the block instead of riding the bus all the way around.

Hi I just transferred and I’m trying to figure out if I have enough time to get to my class. I have an 8:40-10:00 class at the SEC building in Busch and then at 10:20 I have another psychology class at LSH-AUD at Livingston?

Is twenty minutes enough time?
Also which stop do I get off in when I get to Livingston? It looked like it would be Hill Center, is that right?

20 minutes from Busch to Livingston is going to be tough but a lot of people do it so you won’t be the only one late to your class.

Get on at Hill (on Busch) and then get off at Beck (on Livingston).

Thank you so much!

Actually, for a class at LSH, don’t get off at Beck, get off at Livingston Student Center. Getting off at Beck makes for a much longer walk with construction, and you will surely be late.

20 minutes is doable. It all depends on the bus, like if it is crowded and you can’t get on or the bus driver decides to take a 5 minute break at the BCC.

Make sure that you try to locate your classroom before the first day because when you get off at the Livingston student center, it is about a 3 minute walk to Lucy Stone Hall and some students have trouble trying to locate their classrooms because Lucy Stone is built with an A wing and a B wing.

If an A comes first at Hill, you might want to get on it and try to catch a B at BCC.
The problem is that B waits a long time at BCC. I take the B bus all the time. To get back to my quads from Hill or ARC, even when I get off at LSC and walk, it takes 30 minutes with majority of the time spent at BCC. So sometimes I walk to the BCC stop from after class at Hill and if I’m lucky, there will be a B waiting at BCC.

Thanks to everyone who commented my question! :D

Okay so I get off at Livingston Student Center. LSC has two wings…I can’t get there beforehand I live almost an hour away so I’ll be commuting.

Is SEC-111 in the A wing or in the B wing??

You get off at the Livingston Student CenterB **stop. Then it is a 2-3 minute walk to Lucy Stone. Lucy Stone Hall B **has two wings, A and B.

Sorry to confuse you, hehehe, I just realized that both have “LS” in their abbreviations.

I’m not familiar with SEC-111. I don’t think it has an A and B wing.

Oh…I got it now. LOL

Sorry it wasn’t SEC-111 it was LSH-AUD

Is it very hard to get all the classes you need without having to chance that you will be pressed for time between them? Is it too difficult to space your classes so you don’t have to risk being late because the bus situation is so hectic?

Generally, it isn’t difficult to get to class and you aren’t pressed for time. With Jen’s case, because Livingston and Busch run at the same period, she is given only 20 minutes to get between the two campuses.

Times for when the first classes (typical 80-min class) starts on each campuses:
College Avenue/Downtown NB = 8:10-9:30
B/L= 8:40-10:00
C/D= 9:15-10:35

But with the other campuses, College Avenue and Cook/Douglass, they are scheduled so that there is a 40-50 minutes interval when a class ends on one campus and starts at another campus so that you have enough time and won’t be late for class. For example, you might have a class on Cook/Douglass from 9:15-10:35. Right afterward, you have to get to College Avenue for your next class, which starts at 11:30. That’s like 45 minutes there, but ENOUGH time to get to College Avenue.

When you have class back-to-back on one campus, you have a 20 minutes interval until the next class start. For example, you might have a class at Scott Hall on College Ave that goes from 1:10-2:30. The next class is at Hardenbergh hall (also on C. Ave) and starts in 20 minutes, 2:50.

Also when you register for classes online, they tell you when there is a conflict where classes clash due to travel time between campuses (less than 20 minutes generally)

You can look here to get a better idea of how the class periods work by campus (CA, Busch, Livingston, C/D).

Is CDL-102 in Cook Douglass a lecture hall? Also what stop is closest to that building?
