Taking the C- or retaking?

<p>I was wondering, which is more preferable C-, or retaking a class and trying to get a higher grade? The class I am talking about is econ102, and I am asking for a friend. </p>

<p>Retaking a class would show up on transcripts, so it might look bad, but if a retake results in a higher grade, it should look better, right? </p>

<p>I don't know. Help!</p>
