i took a chemistry course during the school year and got a "b" and i want to take the course at a college during the summer and i know i can get an "a", is it true that colleges only take the higher when calculating the g.p.a.? thanks in advance

...bump....

I'm not sure. At my school, you can replace a grade of D or lower with an A, but not if you get a B. What's wrong with a B?

Go talk with your guidance counselor. He/she might know.

thanks jman2306, but i would like second opinions too if anyone can answer this i would be so thankful.

Wouldn't they see both grades on your transcript. I think they would consider both.

I think it's really up to your school and their policies.

at my school u cant really take the class over for a better grade..only like the state test (regents) before u start the next school year...and if u get a higher grade then the higher grade will count...and colleges wont c the lower grade (but idk if that helps or not..since u get the same quarter avg as u did b4 for each quarter in that class)
