Taking the proactive approach.

OK, so of all the schools I've gotten into, Columbia is "recruiting" me the most. I've gotten countless letters, E-mails, and phone calls from students, professors, and admissions officers congratulating me on my acceptance, making the hard sell on Columbia, and asking if I had any questions.

So I just got a call from an unknown number.

Caller: Hello Mike
Me: Who is this?
Caller: This is the Marines. We had called you before and you had indicated that you planned to go to college, is this still the case?
Me: [stern] Yes.
Caller: Oh, well what college did you get accepted to?
Me: That's none of your business.
Caller: Well, we just wanted to know so we can take you off the list.
Me: [annoyed] Why don't you just take me off the list now?
Caller: um ok

Meanwhile, my parents, thinking this is Columbia calling for the 4th time, are horrified at what they hear from the other room.

You are an ass

mike- you've posted on the University of Chicago forum, so I assume that's one of your choices too. I'm driving myself nuts trying to choose between Chicago and Columbia, and I would be really interested to hear about your decision process or anyone else's.

This week I have received phone calls from Georgetown, Columbia, UCLA and Berkeley... and now I want to kill my phone.

being wanted is much better than the alternative. as for columbia v chicago, there are some threads on that in the past two weeks, do a little searching.

also, i thought that was pretty funny, mike.

I think you guys should go to Columbia.
