i'm in 10th grade, and i'm taking the psat's this saturday. they don't count, right? since i'm only in 10th grade. someone told me they count, but a book i bought said it won't count till junior year. help.

They don't count at all your sophomore year

Yeah...You need to be a junior for them to count.

good luck.

Even though it doesnt count, can you use your score for schlorships outside of the NMS

I'm guessing it depends entirely on the scholarship

Sometimes, if you score well, you can get into other programs...

I think Stanford will invite high scorers to EPGY

I don't know, but I was SURE that as long as you are in high school, it counts...well, mabe that's for your SATs only. But if you do well, you can request collegeboard.com to save it. Who knows, that one might have been your best score. Good luck!

Just make sure you don't freak out if you do not do as well as you hoped. Remember: You have another year, and this test is just a practice session created to get you accustomed to testing environments and the like. Quite frankly, I was pretty comfortable taking my first PSAT because there was no point in worrying.

That said, do as well as you can, because the PSAT can, to some degree, give you a vague outlook on your future college choice.
