Taking the SAT for the 4th time?

Ok, I did not get into my dream school through ED and it a flat out rejection. I was just wondering can I take my SAT one more time BEFORE high school graduation for transferring purpose. My best score is 1890 (First time didn't study, second time I nearly passed out after section 7, third time was ok), my goal is at least a 2000-2050 ( March test). The college I want to go to accept SAT while in HS so that still count right? Would a fourth time hurt my chance since the adcom probably be like "Heck, this dumb kid need to take the test 4 times to hit the average scorer"? I know ACT is safer since they only send one score, but I hate the ACT even more so Im not even gonna consider taking it.

Thanks for your time and Happy New Year!

Anyone can give me their insight? And I have another question, do schools require your SAT Subject test as a sophomore transfer applicant?

If you feel like you can improve by 100-200 points, why not?

^agreed. If that much improvement can happen, then do it.

i don’t think that’s the message you would be sending out (that you’re stupid and need to take the test multiple times). if you can significantly improve your score, it will show that you have the drive to succeed and that you don’t accept less than the best you can do. that being said, if you feel like you can do that well on the SATs, your grades will probably reflect that you have the ability and you may just not be the best test-taker (not trying to imply that your scores are bad, just that they might be low for the colleges you’re looking at so they won’t look as good), and many colleges look at your GPA over test scores; they realize that your SAT score only reflects how well you take the SATs. take this into account, but if you really think that you can do a lot better and it’s important to you, i say go for it. good luck!! :)
