Taking the SAT for the third time?

Hi, guys.

I have appeared for the SAT twice (in October and in December) and I really don't know whether or not to appear for the test in January. I am applying for the Fall 2013 intake.

October Score: 2100 (M: 760; W: 750; CR: 590)
November Score: 2140 (M: 760; W: 720; CR: 660)

Superscore: 2170

Since I am an international student and I need loads of financial aid, I am applying to only top tier colleges. Their take on the Jan SAT is a s follows:

Princeton: Will Accept (December if possible for int'ls, though. But I think they'll accept)
Yale: Will Accept
UPenn: Will Accept
Dartmouth: Will Accept
Vassar: Will Accept
Amherst: Even though the last test date is Dec, Amherst will accept a copy of the unofficial report on result day.

Trinity: Will not accept [but will accept photocopy of the unofficial report]
NYUAD: Will not accept
Middlebury: Will not accept
Skidmore: Will not accept
Williams: Will not accept

Pomona: Not clear [They do require the applicant's entire testing history]

So, 6/12 colleges will accept my scores.

Do you think I should take the SAT one more time and try to improve my CR score? :/

Please reply promptly.

To be quite honest, your SAT scores are nowhere close to what you need to get into most of the colleges you’re applying too, AND you’re an international student AND you need aid.

MasterYster,

Well, I know. I missed an easy 2200+ on the December SAT by making awfully stupid mistakes in 3-5 questions that cost me around 80-90 points.

There’s not much I can do about my scores now.

Keeping into context the number of schools that’ll accept my January SAT scores, should I really consider taking the SAT in January and try to improve my CR score to around a 700?

I say go ahead, it can’t hurt right?
