Taking the SAT Math Level 2 in June

Hey guys.

I'm taking the Math Subject Test Level 2 in June (3 weeks from now) and I really need to study! I've went through the entire book of Princeton Review but and on the practice test got about 720....not so good from what I know....and that book is supposed to be on the easier side.

I've heard/read a lot about Meylani and Barrons and found a deal on Amazon to buy both of them for $26 (saving me almost $10)....

If I went through both books and did all the practice test which would total up to about (15+3+6) 24 tests....I should be all right right?

What about Kaplan books?

meeee :)

and just understand the concepts by reading a book cover-to-cover. i actually haven't done ANY practice for this yet, and probably will barely do anything, but that's what i do when i'm studying for a subject i've never done anything on before

so those books shuld be pretty good?

yep. you're fine. that's what i did for Bio and Chem and i was fine. good luck with your test--i'll be taking it with you yay

I don't know of the Meylani books, but just beware that you will find the Barron's practice tests extremely frustrating at times, and it is definitely more difficult than what you'll actually get on test day.

I don't mind the Barrons being harder its better to prepare harder than easier so you're prepared for the worst
hey.....ne other suggestions of what other books are good?

does any one know which math 2 c review book is most like the actuall one. Im guessing that the official sat 2 book must have the test closest to it. I just took that test and i got an 800 but then i took the a test in the RUSH book with 15 tests and i scored 720 . I felt it was so much harder. Is this true and if so then which book has the most closest test to actually thing (the reason i need it is cause the official sat 2 guide only has one exam for each subject and now that ive done it really need more practice tests)

one more thing the questions for the exam gets progressivley harder right? the last ones took me nearly 3 mins each!!

So much superfluous material in the Barrons book. Only read it if you've done everything (and I mean everything) else.

On the plus side, you'll be over prepared.

Heres what I'm doing:

Reread my precalc book
1A. Write down every important detail on index cards

Take both *The Official SAT Subject Tests in Mathematics Study Guide/I Math 2 tests
2A. Analyze and redo every wrong/ommited question

Go through the Princeton Review book
3A. Take practice tests periodically

Went straight to Barrons

Still going through Barrons.

to arlington91.....as odd as it sounds ive heard that the collegeboard books are actually easier.....u shuld buy books that are harder cause if u can do harder books then u will be fine
im ordering the myelin & barrons cause i got a deal 4 them on amazon.com lolz
&& i think thats all im going to do
yeah i went through the entire princeton review one but theres only 2 practice tests so i need more tests.....
princeton review seems 2 be a really good book 4 reviewing materials

From what I've gathered, and from personal experience, barron's doesn't prepare you for those early questions on the test that are a bit tricky, but it does help for the latter ones. You could also borrow the Kaplans Math IIC book which is comparable to Princeton's.

I took one of the practice tests in the CB book before studying and got a 760. After reading the Kaplan book and doing all the practice exams, I then proceeded to take the other CB math test. I got every question correct.

So, I'd have to reccomend Kaplan.
