Every year my parents go down to Haiti and help out for a week with building hospitals and providing health care to the people of the country (dentists). Anyway my senior year will be the first time I can go because I'll be over 18 when the trip comes around in December. Does anybody have an opinion on what colleges would think about missing a week of school to pursue some humanitarian work like this I'm just worried they would look unfavorably on missing school so close to application deadline time.

How would they even know if you missed a week of school?

i reccomend turning in your applications long before that date, and once you get back, be sure to tell all the private schools you applied to that you spent an entire winter in haiti giving humanitarian aid....they'll eat it up

the big public schools wont care....theyll chuck any letters you send after application due dates right in the circular file...=P
