Hi I’m freshman entering Cal this year, thinking about majoring in Econ (maybe double major in data science or math?). I’m currently taking 17 units, College Writing R1A, Math 54, and two breadths. I’m thinking about replaceing one of my breadths with Econ 1, but I worry about the huge workload after doing so…(6 unit CW R1A should be a lot of work). Can someone give me suggestion on my schedule?
Sign up for Econ 1 and attend all 5 classes and then decide what you want to drop after a week or two.
Econ 1 can be used as a Social Science breadth as well.
If you were going as a STEM major taking a ton of technicals I would say to definitely try and do only one breadth a semester. But in this case, yeah see which classes you like and if need be drop one next week if you need to.
@jjjiiiaaa Just be ware that Econ 1, as of this moment, has no open seats and a wait list 52 positions long. If you haven’t been on the first lecture (or first two lectures by now), and haven’t talked to the professor showing your eagerness to get into the class - that boat may have sailed by now.
