Taking too many science courses at once?

I was just wondering if you think its going to be too difficult to take physics I (with calc), chem II and genetics all at the same time? I have already done most of my gen eds, so I don't really have any "filler" classes to add. I'm a psych minor so I have one online psych class but its also got a lab included so I'm not sure how easy that's going to be. Any advice???

I'm also working part time, about 20-30 hours a week. I'm afraid I might be too overwhelmed.

So thats 6 classes overall? Well, I wouldn’t do it I can tell you that. Even putting aside the online class and the lab, I wouldn’t take 3 science courses at once. 2, but not 3. And i’d only take 2 if it was 2 easy courses that I need to fill my necessary 6 science credits. And you’re going to be working at least 20 hours a week?! O_O Yeah I don’t see how you’ll be able to handle this. At this consider dropping the lab and the online course. But if you’re really dedicated to your job and you can stay on top of your schoolwork then it can be done. Understand Science courses like the ones you’re trying to take require a lot of time and effort.

I don’t think that’s overdoing it - you just have to manage your time well. I was able to do Calc 3, Organic II, and Molecular Bio just fine. It all comes down to time management.

Study during the day and during your time between classes. You’ll be so surprised at what you can do.

Pfft. I’m taking two science classes this semester with labs and I’m freaking out about that. I’d be out of my mind, but since I’m a microbiology major, I’ll probably be doing the same thing. Ugh.

too much for me but i have known some people who have taken a lot of science courses. it is up to you i guess whether you will be able to do it or not

Thanks for the input guys. I had a similar load spring of 10 and I was working full time…it didn’t work out too well grade wise but I learned a lot about managing time and what I can and cannot handle. I spread my classes over the week and I decided to only take shifts on the weekends so that will help immensely.

Djamieson, you are ignorant and a pig. I’m female and 21…not an ugly old dude. If you saw a picture of me you’d change your mind real fast. And I’d just like to point out that sex has nothing to do with my schoolwork.

meshannon, I know it seems overwhelming but I’m a micro major too. Two labs and a full schedule of classes is tough but usually you find you survive a lot better than you think. Especially if you can manage your time well.

I would drop one perhaps and just take it another time. I am thinking of doing the same with 5 classes in my major because so far it is already overwhelming.
