Okay, so this semester after my math professor said my chances of salvaging a C in College Algebra were "infinitesmal", and I'm failing, which I suppose means that 99.9% of all students in my situation managed to get a D at best out of the class. So now I'm withdrawing from College Algebra, and I've talked to the head of the math department as well.

I'll settle for a "WF" (Withdrew Failing) on my transcript, and the two higher classes are either Trigonometry or Precalculus.

She remarked that my math placement scores were "borderline" between College Algebra and Trigonometry, and that I was very bright but an academic slacker.

So I could go directly into Precalculus, a five credit-hour accelerated class of consisting of algebra and trigonometry, or Trigonometry, which is only three credit-hours, but for the latter class, I would need to retake the math placement exam and get a high enough score to enter into the Trigonometry course.

She also thought that Precalc would be better for me because the challenging courseload would motivate me to study more, but I'm not sure.

Anyway, I'm interested in engineering or computer science as a field of study, so which of the two courses would be best?
