Taking upper division classes over Summer

I will be a Freshmen this Fall of 08 at UCLA majoring in Neuroscience and minoring in Philosophy. I want to take some of my philosophy classes this summer and I will be taking the two lower division requirements in Sessions A and C. I also want to take two upper division philosophy classes that have no requisites (Medical Ethics and Philosophy of Law). Is this a bad idea or should I just go ahead and do it?

i think you should wait on it… just because even though they may not require any classes, they may draw on knowledge from more basic philosophy/neuroscience classes. also, it’s just better to cut your teeth on lower divs to get used to the swing of things.
but if you want to go for it, then no harm trying, since you’re already taking lower divs for sure- you can see how it goes and drop if you want to later. just check out summer drop deadlines, and don’t drop all your summer classes or you pay $100.
