Taking upper-level bio classes after 2 yr hiatus - hard?

Took Bio AP junior yr in HS and got a 5. The course was just one notch less in depth than UT's intro college bio (I sat in several lectures and saw exams earlier this smr to be sure). Sad to say I've forgotten a considerable amount of material. Would this situation affect my class schedule below?

From this fall, next spring, and next yr's fall semester I plan to take upper-level bio classes like genetics, cell bio, physio/anatomy until the MCAT in spring 2010 junior yr.

Can I just jump right in on the hope that the prof will take it easy the 1st week reviewing intro material or is that too risky?

Seems like it depends on the course and professor. You should try to find out. Can you get a syllabus for that course and professor from someone who's taken it before? Could you email the professor directly to ask about the course structure?

I am in that same situation bud. took ap bio junior year and got a 5.

i got a couple of friends over at MIT UPENN and Emory tat suggested me to retake it cause apparently, gen bio is a lot more in depth in college.

And i guess since i couldn't even rememebr what a PCR was. i may as well start over.
