Talents (Bragging Thread)

What are your proficient skills? I am quite curious, as I don't have any.

Piano, 93 on top exam of state, freshman year…
Latin-I’m pretty good at it, compared to most
Golf-I have good aim (always exactly in the direction I wanted it)

I can speak ten languages.

Well if languages count, I guess I could consider myself proficient in Korean.
:)

p-izzle: Are you serious?

Speaking Korean, chinese, or any other asian language is utterly beneficial. Going to Korea is like going to a COMPLETELY diverse world with different moral values, tradition, honor, its quite enjoyable. Not to mention, the school system is much more stressed with 8 courses a day, and every subject is combinded in the ‘‘SAT’’ there. Making new friends, and comprehending thier perspective on America and quite interesting views. It was a blast when I went to visit my relatives, haha.

@ yeahallie,

I can speak fluently in English, Sign Language, Polish, French, German, Spanish, Latin, Russian, Italian, and greek.

I learned 6 of them when i was a young kid…knowing I used to live in Europe.

I am in the top singing group at my school (it meets during 0 period, very selective chamber choir made up of 18 people).

I’ve been singing for 9 years and doing Musical Theatre for 7. Last year I was an Understudy in our musical (An honor as our musicals are again very selective) and hopefully I’ll get a lead this year.

Im a second degree black belt in two styles of kung-fu
Best in region, about a 75 mile radius, in alto sax
Play Alto,Tenor,Baritone,Soprano Sax, piano, guitar, flute, alto bass and regular clarinet, trumpet and sing
I’m also a physical science technician (scientist at 16!) with the USGS, United States Geological Survey

I have a few…

Languages - English, Spanish, and Japanese at very fluent level.
Math - Calc II (AP Calc BC) at age 13.
Acting.
TV Journalism.

I’m a good weasel :)

AP Calc at 13 is outrageously amazing.

I’m a good writer. Mostly poetry, some song lyrics, some vignettes.

I can speak Russian, though it could definitely use some work.

And this is completely unimportant, but I have an amazing memory for dates.

I’m a crazy good guesser. (a.k.a. consistent luck)

I can improvise on the piano for hours, and quite well.

Like, teenage_cliche, I am also a good writer. Though I am not fluent in any language other than English, I have an ease for understanding words and langauge in general. I can spell very well, though not like those crazy kids that compete in spelling bees.

I am also very diplomatic and have a knack for finding middle ground in almost any situation.

I’ve ascended [illiterate atheists](http://alt.org/nethack/chardump/Averin/Averin.20071017-025501.txt) in NetHack. This was probably the crowning achievement of my entire life. I’m working on a foodless wizard, but no luck yet (especially since midterms mean I haven’t had much time to play).

(I also took algebra at age 6 [+ other academic accomplishments]. But that’s comparatively meaningless.)

I wish I could sing well.

I have good grammar.

I got a 670 on the W section of the SAT at age 14.

I totally disproved Ayn Rand’s theory.

Ayn Rand is hot.

I have perfected the “hitting only the gray tiles on the checkered gray-and-white school floor” run.

I can connect everything back to Heroes. Everything.
