Talk to me about SAT IIs?

I'm currently a freshman in high school and am taking biology-- not AP bio, but pre-AP. However, our school's biology department is widely regarded as one of (if not THE) best in the state. We go into a lot of detail and it's a very, very challenging course.
I may not take a second year of biology and I feel like I have a good grasp of the material. What are the pros and cons of taking the SAT II in bio now? If I do badly, what are the consequences? I looked at all the multiple-choice questions offered on the College Board website and did pretty well.
Advice, anyone?
Thank you!

Well, we don't know how well the bio course prepares you for the SAT II. If you feel that you can do well on it, give it a shot. If you don't do too well, it's up to you either to retake it to raise your score or simply to take two/three other SAT IIs once the time comes.

I could tell you that colleges only look at your two or three highest scores or that a low score from freshman year won't be held against you, but I don't know about the first statement (and I am reasonably sure that no student on this board does) and concerning the latter, colleges may simply not pay attention to the test dates.

Bottom line: if you are confident that you can do well on the SAT II, take it but take it seriously and prepare for it.

yeah, only you can be the judge. I think my bio course is a joke, but it may be at the same level as yours. I dont know.
