Talking to professors? Instructor evaluations?

How would you go about it?

All my classes at college are pretty big... at least about 200 students in a lecture so you get the picture. We do have small discussion sections for every class though(taught by graduate student TA's) and I've been doing pretty well during the discussion sections, getting to know my TA's. Plus, it's much easier to approach TA's since we are in a much smaller setting.

But, I'm still kind of lost about getting to know my professors though. I know they have office
hours and stuff, but I just don't know what to do. Should I go ask professors for help(i.e. homework assignments) instead asking my TA's? What do I have to do if I want them know me enough for them to write my instructor evaluations?

Basically, you need to take the time to get to know the professors. At the beginning of the semester, you need to go and introduce yourself and make your presence known. I would recommend that you go so far as to tell them that you will be asking for a letter at the end of the semester and would appreciate it if they will keep an eye on you throughout the term so a STRONG recommendation can be made. Good luck!
