Hello. First time post here hoping to gather some opinions/information.

I have applied to Texas A&M University 11/26 before the deadline of December 8th. Now I know it will take some time before I hear back from them. However I'm trying to prepare for a possible acceptance or possible denial and wanted some opinions from you guys.

Here's some background:

I attended an IB school K-10th grade, and my Freshman and Sophomore grades were not supposed to count towards my GPA at this school. So me being me, well, I did not try at all, kept C's and B's to cruise by. My mother lost her job and I had to attend public school. The grading scale is completely different as I am now getting all A's and one or two B's in all AP without trying too hard. Here's the problem though, my grades from 9th and 10th as low as they were and not supposed to count, counted, and they weren't weighted Pre-IB (or the equiv Pre-AP). So my GPA tanked.

I got a 2250 on my SAT (1550 Math + Reading)
I am not in the top 50% due to the transcript "issue".
I have a recommendation letter from a teacher from my previous school, one from my current school, and one from my registrars explaining the difference in my grades and how I am not a B only student.
I have taken the SAT II's in Math 2 and Physics waiting to see how those turn out.

I am applying to the College of Engineering.

Anyway, just wanted some opinions on my chances at getting in. Thanks! Happy Holidays and hope everyone gets accepted to their top choice.
