Do retake the ACT and or SAT. Those are really low for engineering. What are your sub scores?
If you are not admitted to engineering after holistic review, they will ask you to chose another major, so be thinking if that is something you may want to do.
Being an auto admit, I would apply as soon as possible, just to get your admissions to the university. That admissions date has a bearing on housing. Once admitted, you have 30 days to accept admissions and apply for housing, to have guaranteed, on campus housing. Having an early date/time stamp for housing selection gives you the best chance of getting where you want to be for freshman year.
The housing application fee is $50 and non refundable. The housing deposit is $300. Both are payable at the time of application submission. Should you elect not to attend A&M at a later time, you can decline the admissions you accepted and the deposit is refundable but the app fee is not, as long as you make the change by May 1.
Get the complete app in asap. This is your time stamp. The supporting documents are due by Dec. 8, but I would not wait until then, just in case there is a problem with scores not arriving, transcripts getting lost, etc. It has happened, and then you are out of luck. Check the status in the AIS (applicant info system) you will have once you are admitted. Make sure all the blanks are checked off and monitor their status. Do not hesitate to call if something remains incomplete too long.
When you send your AP scores to A&M, print off the receipt that you paid and which ones you sent. For my daughter, College Board neglected to send 2 of her scores, though they were paid for. It took them 3 weeks to send any of them after request and payment. But they were expedient with the missing ones. You just have to monitor everything and be your own advocate.
Make sure to check your email as well, for instructions for things to complete (set up tamu email, etc). A lot of high school kids are not use to a lot of email communication and this is the main way TAMU will communicate with you, professors, etc.
