I’m really hoping that this is enough to get in. The only reason that I am not an academic admit is because I didn’t get a 600 on reading on the old sat.

What are her shots? This is for my niece. I’m skeptical, but hopeful.

I got an email, saying that i have been admitted, within two days of completing and submitting my application with all the necessary docs. Right now the AIS page says that I am in engineering review (i.e they will notify me by mid-December if they have space in aerospace engineering, my intended field of study).

Congratulations, @arpsquare on being admitted. You must be an auto/academic admit. Now that the first wave of decisions has gone out, auto/academic admits will hear their decisions more quickly.

You will actually be placed in general engineering if/when accepted into the engineering program and when you have satisfied the engineering core curriculum, you will apply to your major. Here is the analysis for Spring 2016 entry to major applicants. You can see the stats for Aerospace. https://engineering.tamu.edu/academics/advisors-procedures/entry-to-a-major/resources/analysis-spring-2016-admission-cycle

So here’s my question:
I’ve been reading a lot of message boards and have read that Texas A&M doesn’t send out acceptance letters to “Review Admits” until after December…is that true? I considered my self a review admit because my SAT score is lower than the automatic, however, I also read something that said that top 25% is academic admit…is that correct and if so, which category do you think I fall in to?

Is that the old or new SAT score? If old what are your sub-scores?

@mollykdolan If you scroll down to Notification of Decision, A&M notifies review admits in mid-late March. That said, most review admits as well as the last full admission applicants, received their decisions for the past two years on the third Friday of February. Here is some info off of the Office of Admissions website. It also lists the info below. http://admissions.tamu.edu/freshman/admitted

Approximately 35% of review applicants typically receive some form of admission to Texas A&M. There are several different admission options including:

Full Admission to Texas A&M
Texas A&M Blinn TEAM
Engineering Academy at Blinn
Aggie Gateway to Success
Engineering at Galveston

Q:If I haven’t received a decision by now does it mean I am getting denied?
A: No; due to the increasing number of students who qualify for automatic admission to Texas A&M, we must closely monitor our class size to determine how many students from holistic review may be admitted and when. The goal is for all students applying for the fall semester to receive a decision by the end of March.

@Thelma2 Did you create a housing thread? If so what is it called?
