Any suggestions on the computer for engineering? Go with the BYOD program or use an independent provider? Are the minimum specifications adequate or should he upgrade beyond the 8GB RAM and/or 256 GB hard drive? Any thoughts on getting the next day on-site hardware support? Is a touch screen useful? Thanks!
My son got one of the Dell BYOD computers and has been very happy with it. That said, we could have gotten a much cheaper computer that would have worked just fine. He is 2 years in and I would say he hasn’t needed the high graphics and processing power in his computer.
If you are a Costco member, check out their laptops. They extend the manufacture’s warranty for 2 years, and if you purchase it with your Costco Visa, you get an extra 2 years.
