Yes, placing into precalculus instead of calculus 1 (or higher) will very likely add a semester to the schedule of an engineering major, since many prerequisite sequences depend on calculus 1.
I think they’ll also expect that he complete all 3 Calculus classes (Calc I – Calc III) at the same school. Blinn TEAM students need to complete Calculus I-III before they can transition completely to TAMU CS.
